Should you avoid potato starch when you have candida? The answer is no, potatoes, and starchy foods in general, are fantastic for candida, and in fact, they are the base of my candida diet, which I have talked about in many of my previous posts.
Today, I’m going to talk about an extremely important subject, potato starch and candida, and whether to avoid it or to increase its consumption.
And as mentioned some few lines ago, you should increase your consumption of potato starch, since it’s extremely healthy as it contains a good amount of fiber, and is also going to boost your gut flora, most importantly, you need to always have this idea in mind:
Your gut flora, your good bacteria, feed on undigested starches, and if you avoid starch from your diet, you will simply starve them and allow your candida funguses, which love simple sugars, in fact, they feed on them, to increase in number and cause havoc in your body!
Yes, if you only consume raw food, fruits, and/or lots of processed foods, you are simply going to increase your candida issues!
My idea is quite simple, if you would like to get rid of candida once and for all, you need to increase this nutrient in your diet: fiber!
Yes, most starch foods are high in fibers, in fact, most starchy foods are unprocessed, and here, I’m talking about whole wheat bread, potatoes, sweet potatoes, corn, quinoa, and other grains as well.
They are the best when it comes to getting rid of your candida issues, and even better, they are extremely nutritious for your body, since we have evolved to become starch eaters, in other words, you will never feel hungry when you consume good amounts of starches, however, if you only consume raw foods, fruits and vegetables even in huge amounts, or even worse, if you consume processed foods, you will always feel a void inside you, and you will always feel hungry.
This is the reason why I am begging you today to consider eating starchy foods on a daily bases if you have candida!
Potato starch is amazing for candida, it will help you get rid of this terrible fungal problem, however, here, I’m not talking about processed potato starch, in other words, you shouldn’t use potato starch as medicine to get rid of candida, forget about processed foods, they are just terrible, what I’m asking you here to do is to eat complete potatoes, whole things, yes, you can remove the skin.
But when it comes to potato starch, it’s highly beneficial and will only increase your immune function and get rid of candida very efficiently, but please, stay away from French fries, they are terrible!
This brings me to a very important part I need to make: you need to stay away from fats and animal foods.
And here, I’m talking about dairy, eggs, poultry, olive oil, vegetable oil, lard, fish, and pork, let’s not forget meat.
You need to stay away from these foods as much as possible, you also need to avoid soft drinks and alcohol, this is the best way to get rid of candida in a very short period of time.
