Should you consume soy and soy products when you have candida? Well, the answer is no!
I hate to disappoint you, but it’s the truth, candida is not to be played with, and candida causing foods should be avoided as much as possible, in fact, you should avoid anything that’s going to increase it, and unfortunately, soy and other soy products are heavily processed, and contain very few amounts of fiber, which is the reason why I want you to avoid it as much as possible.
Of course, here, I’m not talking about soy beans, for example, if you would like to have tempeh, tofu, or miso, then, do it, they are amazing, and if you want to have edamame for example, then, you should, it’s amazing, but when it comes to fake meats and other soy products, even highly processed and flavored tofu, which tend to be extremely rich in preservatives, I want you to avoid these foods as much as possible, and in fact, from now on, because of your candida issues, I want you to avoid soy products and soy food all the time.
I know that this is an overgeneralization and I should avoid it, but it’s very important to abide by this rule, because most soy foods nowadays are heavily processed, even worse, they contain very few amounts of fiber, which is the reason why most people are going to get candida in the first place!
I’ve shared this in many of my previous posts, it’s the idea that we get candida because we consume little amounts of fibers, which are going to increase constipation levels, and even worse, they are going to increase inflammations in our body which is very harmful for our immune system and will keep it from fighting the real funguses which are causing this fungal issue in the first place.
Now, how about soy sauce?
You should avoid it as well since it contains huge amounts of salt which is going to decrease the amount of water in your colon, in other words, you will be constipated and you will have lots of gas and other gastrointestinal issues, which is not very pretty, and may even contribute to your candida issues.
Of course, you can have some soy sauce, only a few drops from time to time, however, if you are addicted to it, like I was in the past, then, you need to avoid it as much as possible.
In general, if you are intending to consume highly processed soy products, then, you need to avoid doing this, it’s only going to increase your candida symptoms.
Please, if you have a question concerning soy and candida, don’t hesitate to post it in the section below, I will be very happy to help you.
